‚Moll‘ …

Ja, ein Lied in ‚Moll‘, das hat jemand aus dem Teilnehmerkreis des PaceRace 2025, nachdem die Austragungsgegend bekannt gegeben wurde, in der Teilnehmer-Chatgruppe verlinkt …😀

„Es gibt Länder, wo richtig was los ist … und es gibt Brandenburg … Ich fühl mich heut so leer – ich fühl mich Brandenburg … In Berlin bin ich einer von 3 Millionen – in Brandenburg kann ich bald alleine wohnen.

In Brandenburg soll es wieder Wölfe geben … Nimm dir Essen mit, wir fahren nach Brandenburg.“

Und dann wird ’s doch ‚Dur‘.

„Halleluja … alle wollen dahin, deshalb will ich das auch.“

Wo Rainald Grebe wirklich hin will – das kann sich jeder selbst anhören 🙈😀.

Auf jeden Fall will ich nach Brandenburg … das wird bestimmt lustig, beim PaceRace 2025.

Das Regelwerk mit all den Weg- und Fotopunkten kommt am 14. Juli spätabends per E-Mail an. Jetzt geht es los.

Wenn man Google fragt, dann bekommt man zum Wort „Alien“ folgende Antwort:

„Ein außerirdisches Wesen wird auch kurz Außerirdischer oder nach der englischen Bezeichnung Alien (von lateinisch alienus ,fremd, unbekannt‘) genannt. Das Adjektiv außerirdisch ist gleichbedeutend mit dem Fremdwort extraterrestrisch.„

Hm … sind wir zwei, die wir heute auf Alpentour starten, das wirklich? … na mal schauen … 🙈😀.
Mittwoch, 16. Juli 2025, 6:00 Uhr – los geht ’s in Richtung Süden. Es schaut so aus, als ob wir dem nahenden Regengebiet ein Schnippchen schlagen werden, denn unsere geplante Route soll uns aus dem Durchzugsgebiet dieser Niederschläge heraus führen … na mal schauen

Auf jeden Fall grüßt die Sonne zum Abschied von Zuhause. Mich führt mein erster Teil der Tour nach Münchsmünster. Dort habe ich nämlich, mit dem zweiten Alien dieser Reise, den extraterrestrischen – oder was auch immer – Kontakt vereinbart 😀.

Saturday, 24th August 2024, 1:51 PM. My smartphone notifies me of a new, exceptionally important email. Three files are attached. A quick glance, and it's immediately clear: the regulations for PACERACE 2024 have arrived.

Can't be that hard to read on a small phone display, right? But something feels different from last year. The document is 4 pages long, and the waypoints are also included as GPX and KML files. Something's definitely up...

Nearly two weeks later, on September 6th, I set off with the DSR/X, also known as 'I and ES', towards Weyarn at the Irschenberg. The base camp, as well as the start and finish for our PACERACE, is at the Hotel Alter Wirt.

Until that day, I came up with countless ideas for route choices, discarded them, changed the sequence of waypoints, reversed them, planned a highway section, threw it out, put it back in, planned version 1, version 1A, scrapped version 2, and did all sorts of hocus-pocus. A wild journey before the journey, huh?

Prolog

Packing! Yes, that's what I have to do this evening. Although 'packing' is actually the wrong word. For many years I have developed this 'peculiarity' of writing lists for travelling. And so it happens that there is already a list for this planned trip. It was written last year when I set off towards the Grossglockner at about the same time of year.
So dig out the list from last year and simply put, throw, place... the things on the list into the DSR/X's case. Just put it in.
It's nice that there is suddenly so much storage space available compared to the SR/F. Traveling with an SUV ...
The last official act for this evening is to start charging to 110%. "Extended Range" is what Zero calls it. These 110% should take me to Holzkirchen by the shortest route tomorrow morning - from there the Alps-fun can begin.

Day 1 – Upper Palatinate to Stelvio

Thursday morning, Assumption Day 2024, I set the alarm for 5:30 a.m. That wouldn't have been necessary, because I wake up on my own 5 minutes earlier. I'm ready to go. I get myself up to operating temperature with a small first breakfast with plenty of coffee and cereal. At just after 6 a.m. I'm sitting on the DSR/X. It doesn't need to warm up. The Zero is always at operating temperature. Not far from home, the sun then makes its way out to greet me in the morning.

It looks like the weather will be good over the next few days. Temperatures of up to 30 degrees are forecast, but that's better than having to prepare for rain.
